Crash kills one, sends three to hospital near Black Diamond

A deadly crash near Black Diamond has left one person dead and sent three others to hospital.

It happened after a vehicle was reported to be swerving all over the road, Saturday night, on Highway 7.

Police are still investigating and have not confirmed whether alcohol was involved in the collision, which shut down the highway near the town for more than six hours.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. at 112th Street.

RCMP said they’d been responding to reports of a white car swerving into oncoming traffic when they got word the same vehicle had been involved in a crash.

The car hit a van head-on, killing the woman behind the wheel of the car.

The man driving the van was flown to hospital by STARS in life-threatening condition.

Two others in the van were taken to Foothills Hospital in Calgary in non-life-threatening condition.

RCMP say the identity of the victim will not be released.
