Have questions about sponsoring a refugee? Event Saturday might help

Calgary Legal Guidance (CLG) is holding an information session for those who would like more information on how to sponsor a refugee.

Margaret Keelaghan told 660 NEWS that her phone has been ringing off the hook as many people have questions in the wake of the Syria crisis.

“We’ve attended a number of forums. The Calgary Catholic Immigration Society has done a number of forums downtown. Every time that I go, people stop me and they’ve got a lot questions to ask about what the process is and how they can get some assistance,” Kellaghan said.

CLG has also put out a call for volunteer lawyers to help on a pro-bono basis.

It is free to attend and will take place in the John Dutton Theatre on the second floor of the Central Library in the downtown core Saturday Nov. 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
