CBE pressing pause on international school trips

In light of recent global events, the Calgary Board of Education is asking its schools to pause planning for any international trips.

This means schools are not be making any immediate decisions, including cashing cheques or collecting fees.

The CBE has been conducting meetings with parents and students, to hear any concerns they may have.

The board says it believes in the educational value of trips abroad, but the safety of students and staff is of the highest importance.

A decision on international travel is expected before winter break.
