Three charged after weapons and drugs, including fentanyl, were seized

Calgary police have charged three people after busting a fentanyl trafficking ring.

One of the accused drug dealers is only 17.

The charges were laid following a two month investigation.

Officers searched three homes in Temple, Rundle and Coral Springs and recovered fentanyl, oxycontin, crack, meth and other drugs.

The following items were seized:

$16,000 cash
2.6 kg of marijuana
68.5 grams of cannabis resin
85.9 grams of methamphetamine
61 pills of fentanyl
10 pills of OxyContin
43 grams of crack cocaine
275 grams of powder cocaine
9 mm Browning high-powered handgun
12 gauge Winchester sawed off shotgun
Five .22 caliber pen guns

Police believe even though they only found a small amount of fentanyl, the group may have been trafficking in it for several months.

Three young men have been charged including a 17-year-old with dozens of offences including possession of a firearm obtained by crime.

19-year-old Saro Pireh, 23-year-old Khalil Hijazi and the teenager have all been charged.

Police also say that further charges may be laid.
