EDMONTON – Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says details of the carbon tax rebates will be worked out in the next few months.
Notley says the information is expected to be ready when next year’s budget is released in the spring.
Alberta is bringing in a carbon tax starting in 2017 that will see heating and power bills go up, along with hikes at the gas pump.
The bill for the average household is projected to go up by $470 a year by 2018.
However, the government is planning to rebate some of that money to middle and lower-income Albertans.
Notley says about 60 per cent of Albertans will qualify.
