Festival of Lights to turn on in Confederation Park this weekend

It’s a holiday tradition in Calgary, the Lions Festival of Lights

Starting this weekend, Calgarians can see it in Confederation Park, while driving 14 Street NW, south of 24 Avenue.

Otto Silzer with the Lions Clubs of Calgary tells 660 NEWS, the showcase features more than 300,000 lights.

“It includes design panels of Christmas themes and secular themes as well. Rudolph is fantastically displayed this year. Rudolph is our major theme this year on the scaffold,” he said.

The lights will officially be turned on during a special event starting at 5 p.m. Saturday.

There will be fireworks, entertainment, hot chocolate and treats.
