Members of the Calgary Hitmen will be putting aside their hockey sticks in favour of teddy bear clothing Tuesday.
Players will be at Build-a-Bear locations in Chinook Mall and Crossiron Mills to make bears destined to be tossed on the ice in the annual Teddy Bear Toss Game in a few weeks.
They’ll get a helping hand from members of the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary.
Players will also make one custom bear each which will include a special Hitmen t-shirt and a personalized voice box message from the player.
Those bears will be auctioned off in support of the Calgary Food Bank, along with the player’s game-worn Teddy Bear Toss jerseys following the game on December 6.
