Gas prices continue rollercoaster ride

Gas prices in Calgary continue to go up and down at will.

Some stations dropped the price by four cents a litre earlier in the week, down to 108.9.

Thursday morning, those stations are at 115.9, a seven cent jump and gas expert Dan McTeague says our prices, are much higher compared to cities such as Vancouver and Halifax, which is very unusual.

“You hit it right on the head, it is a 13 to 14 or in some cases 15 cent difference on the wholesale side, in other words refineries are not able to produce to satisfy our regional needs,” said McTeague.

Normally, gas prices in Vancouver and Halifax are roughly 20 cents a litre higher than Calgary.
