A traffic headache for drivers heading to the mountain parks is about to get a bit of pain relief.
After months of construction, the detour route on the Trans-Canada Hwy near Canada Olympic Park will open Wednesday.
It takes drivers around the big interchange project at Bowfort Road and has a speed limit of 50 km/h.
Since May, drivers have experienced major delays in the area, especially on weekends heading to and coming back from the mountains.
The detour will be in place for over a year until the new interchange opens in late 2016.
