Community college fire on Blood Reserve deliberately set

A multi million dollar fire that destroyed a community college on the Blood Reserve in southern Alberta last month was deliberately set.

Early estimates from insurance adjusters indicated the fire, August 14, at Red Crow Community College, did $11 million in damage to the college.

Investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set in the early morning hours of the fourteenth, but so far they don’t know much else.

The college was founded in 1986, but the main building on campus had been home to a residential school dating back many years.
