Taser used during Deerfoot traffic stop

A man is in custody following a tense traffic stop on Deerfoot Trail.
Police pulled over a vehicle on northbound Deerfoot approaching Memorial Drive around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
They say the driver became combative with the officer, who was forced to deploy a taser to subdue him.
The man was assessed by paramedics on scene before being taken into custody.
The incident caused major back-ups while police dealt with the individual.
