From summer to school: a chaotic switch

City shopping centres were buzzing Monday with families scrambling to make sure the kids were ready return to school the next morning.
For many Calgary area families, back to school can be a bit too much, too soon.
One mother of three told 660 NEWS she will be juggling hockey, ringette and basketball all gearing up after a relaxing summer as well.
“It’s bitter sweet because you’re excited for the kid because they get to see all their friends, and start all their sports, but it’s chaos. You go from doing nothing, to complete chaos the first week,” She said.
The kids expressed less excitement for the week ahead – one young man saying he was not looking forward to the major adjustment from summer to school.
On the bright side, a four-day school week starts Tuesday and then immediately school children are gifted the September long weekend.
