Saddledome mopping up after recent flood damage

Deja vu?

The home of the Calgary Flames is dealing with water damage after this week’s severe weather.

The Saddledome, which was flooded out during the June 2013 disaster and needed a full overhaul, had more water come in to the south end of the building on Tuesday.

Libby Raines, VP of Building Operations at the Saddledome, told 660 NEWS it’s a long time issue.

“The storm on Tuesday night, it was a lot of water in a short period of time,” she said. “It’s an issue, a bit of a chronic problem with this building that when we do get those types of weather conditions, we’ll get water in the building.”

Raines added, they quickly called in crews to help them get a handle on the water and no events at the Saddledome should be affected.

They have two pretty big concerts coming up: next Wednesday is Mumford and Sons and Thursday the Foo Fighters play the ‘dome.
