Summer spectacle “Slide the City” turns sour for Calgary man

For some, it’s the most anticipated fun of the summer.

A giant waterslide will be set up near Riley park in Sunnyside/Kensington Saturday and Sunday.

But one dad who bought VIP tickets isn’t happy.

Robert McGregor tells 660 NEWS, when he purchased them earlier this year, a lot more was included, like more slide time before and after the general public.

“After exchanging several emails I’ve also been notified that there is no water gun and there never was supposed to be and that they haven’t done anything with water guns in a long time,” said McGregor.

“Yet on their website, it clearly states the event goes rain or shine, and if it’s raining it just means ‘the people you’re squirting with your new water gun won’t be getting as upset’.”

The site no longer makes any reference to water guns. http://www.slidethecity.com/events/calgary/

Service Alberta confirms to 660 NEWS they are investigating the company behind Slide The City, but didn’t offer further details.
