Those who love Banff, but hate congestion, are in luck this long weekend.
Parks Canada announced that from Aug. 1-3, there is a free shuttle bus picking up people from the Lake Louise overflow parking lot, located just off the Trans Canada Highway, and taking them directly to Moraine Lake.
The goal is to reduce traffic congestion on the highway and allow visitors to have an enjoyable experience.
The service runs from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., with return service from Moraine Lake beginning at 9:30 a.m. and running until 5:30 p.m.
This type of service has also been offered to visitors for the past two years during the month of September, and according to Parks Canada, it’s been very successful.
