Calgary home sales cooled further in July

Earlier this week, the Calgary Real Estate Board revised their yearly forecast downward, and now there’s new evidence of the further slump in the real estate market in this city.

Stats on the CREB website show home sales dropped 14 per cent in July, compared to the same month a year ago. They were also off about 200 from June at 1,995 from 2,184.

The median price continues to rise, though; it was up to $435,000 last month, from June’s $430,000.

The number of days properties are languishing on the market remained on par with the month prior, at 40 days, but that is 21 per cent higher than a year ago.

New listings shrank seven per cent, year over year.
