NEW YORK, N.Y. – PBS and the non-profit group TED are teaming up to offer a six-night live event in New York this November with speakers including actor Adam Driver, musician Rufus Wainwright and author Sebastian Junger.
The TED talks will be hosted by comedian and author Baratunde Thurston and actress Sara Ramirez.
They will be held at The Town Hall in New York’s Theater District from Nov. 1-6. Topics over the six nights include war, education and science. Other participants include chef Sam Kass and singer-songwriter Angela McCluskey. Tickets are $100.
The shows will be taped and broadcast as three one-hour specials on PBS this spring.
TED — standing for Technology, Entertainment, Design — started in 1984 as a conference dedicated to “ideas worth spreading.”
