Numerous federal funding announcements in Calgary, including a major boost for the ring road project have some questioning the Conservative’s motives ahead of an election.
Kent Hehr, the Liberal candidate for Calgary-Centre, said the timing is suspicious.
“I guess you kind of like the announcement but let’s face it; this is one of those promises where the cheque is in the mail and maybe it’ll get there, maybe it won’t,” Hehr told 660 NEWS.
“I’ve noticed a ton of announcements after not much delivery (in) infrastructure or flood mitigation payments over the course of the last ten years.”
He added that the Conservatives have a tough campaign ahead of them.
He believes a couple of ridings in Calgary may go Liberal.
Hehr also said what will secure his win in Calgary-Centre will be the Conversations at the door with voters and not election promises.
