Calgary’s mayor is not impressed with the new NDP government.
Naheed Nenshi says the province has turned down a request for $27 million in funding to help deal with the costs of “Snowtember.”
The now infamous snow storm last September wrecked thousands of trees across the city and brought down power lines.
According to the province, the storm’s damage does not qualify for disaster recovery assistance.
Mayor Nenshi says that’s unbelievable.
The city will now be on the hook for the costs and be forced to tap into its fiscal sustainability fund.
