Man rushed to hospital after incident on Barrier Lake

Two people reported missing on Barrier Lake Tuesday night are alive and safe after being located by conservation officers.

Just after 8:30 p.m., emergency crews were summoned to the lake where they found an uninjured man, who said that two other members of his party were still missing on the lake.

Conservation officers then began a search, locating the two individuals on shore less than an hour later.

They found an adult woman who was basically unscathed.

But they also located a man, believed to be in his 50’s, who was semi-conscious.

The man who was last seen trying to get the woman and a small watercraft to shore was rushed to foothills hospital in life threatening condition.

EMS says it’s not known if the members of the party were wearing life jackets.
