Cab driver verbally assaulted in 2013 files public complaint against RCMP

A Calgary cab driver has launched a public complaint against the RCMP, to find out why no charges have been laid in a verbal assault two years ago.

A shocking video surfaced recently that shows a male passenger unleashing a racist tirade against Sardar Qayam, and breaking the dashboard camera.

Mounties say an independent senior non-commissioned officer will be looking into how the Airdrie detachment handled the case in 2013.

The investigation will also be submitted to Crown counsel to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
