Calgary Flames introduce Dougie Hamilton and Michael Frolik

The two newest members of the Calgary Flames were introduced to Calgary Friday.

Blueliner Dougie Hamilton, acquired ahead of this year’s entry draft, and forward Michael Frolik, who was signed as a free agent on Canada Day, held court with the media at the Saddldome.

For Hamilton, landing in Calgary is the perfect fit.

“To play for a Canadian team and a great organization like this is really exciting,” the 22-year-old said. “I think right now, with the Canadian flag on my shoulder and everything like that, it’s really exciting, it’s pretty much a dream come true.”

Frolik, 27, is also looking forward to the opportunity, especially playing alongside fellow Czech Jiri Hudler.

“He’s a pretty funny guy and he’s a one of a kind guy,” Frolik said. “I’m really excited to be with him here and I know we’re going to have fun together.

“He had a great year last year and he’s a smart hockey player, I’m really excited to be with him.”

Hamilton will wear number 27 and Frolik number 67.
