Next Stampede he wants cheaper parking, water stations

What kind of changes would make Calgary Stampede better next year?

Now that the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth has come to a close, the postmortems are beginning.

Blogger Mike Morrison has dished out his five suggestions.

They including a little less country, a few more pop concerts, and cheaper parking so families aren’t going broke just getting onto the grounds.

“I’ve heard from a few parents that they’ve spent $100 before they’ve even done a single thing on the Stampede grounds,” he told 660News.

“That’s a lot of money. That’s Disney World money. The cost just seems to be getting so big.”

Morrison said people who commented on his blog had some great ideas, including renaming the Indian Village, moving it to a more prominent location, and adding water bottle filling stations to the grounds.

“It just seems very strange for a non-profit festival to be charging $4 or $3 for water, when it really is sort of a basic right to be able to drink cold water when it’s so hot outside.”
