Charity hockey game scoring goals for the food bank

A charity hockey game will give aid to the food bank Tuesday.

Calgary is one of 13 stops across Canada for Five Hole for Food.

Founder Richard Loat says they’re hoping for a lot of support.

“You know, in Calgary, we’ve seen that the amount we’ve raised year over year seems to be going up,” he said. “We’re just really keen to be getting people out. I know, obviously, we’re right after Stampede so I think it’s a good reason to get those legs going and perhaps burn off some of those calories that have built up over the last couple of weeks.”

The game will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Eau Claire Market.

Participants and spectators have been asked to bring along a non-perishable food item or a cash donation.
