Water valve replacement on tap for 14th Street NW

That trek up 14th Street in the northwest may be a bit of a bottleneck starting Tuesday.

Water Services is replacing 60-year-old feeder-main valves at various locations along the stretch.

Tanner Fellinger, Leader of Business Performances, says you’ll be able to get through 14th in at least one lane in each direction all summer.

“We broke down the repair and upgrade work into four stages,” he explained.

“The smaller repairs allow us to have smaller detours and that in fact will lessen the impact on traffic in the area. The work will actually take place along 14th Street, from John Laurie Blvd, to 16th Avenue. Work will commence July 7th until the end of September.”

The first stage hits over the next three days at the busy Northmount Drive intersection.
