Man pulled from Highwood River after being injured

A 20-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being pulled from the Highwood River near Okotoks on Saturday.
Reports indicate the man may have fallen or jumped off a cliff at the Nature’s Hideaway Family Campground.
Crews were called to the scene for the rescue shortly after 8:00 a.m.
“EMS was dispatched to Okotoks for a 20-year-old male who had sustained a lower body injury,” said EMS spokesperson Naomi Nania. “He was
taken via ground ambulance to Foothills Hospital and was in stable condition.”
This incident is prompting reminders from EMS to stay safe around the water on hot days.
