Real estate to hit Stampede grind

The city will be loud with celebrations over the 10-day period of the Calgary Stampede but Calgarians who hope to sell their homes may hear the sound of crickets.

John Mayberry, with CIR Realty and calgaryhomeboys.com, says he has noticed a significant slowdown in activity during the Stampede period over his more than 10-years in the business.

He says the slowdown can significantly help those looking for a home.

“For buyers, this is a great time to get out and look around. A lot of people take the week off while everyone is down at the Stampede grounds, so why not take advantage of the low activity?” he said.

Mayberry also advises clients to hold off on listing their property during the Stampede as it is likely not to have many showings.
