Another man from Russia along with his daughter had waited nine years for this day.

“We waited for long time, it’s a great feeling were now also Canadian’s,” he said.

A woman from China has had a very long Journey getting here and is happy to finally be able to call herself Canadian.

“Fifteen years and two months, I feel Canadian inside out now,” she said.

Mayor Naheed Nenshi shared his parents’ story coming to Canada to the new citizens and gave them some advice.

“You know I always say to new Canadian’s that now that your here let’s make sure that we continue to build on what makes this country special, let’s make it easier for the other new Canadians, the ones yet to come.”
