Protestors gather in the Beltline to boycott Tim Horton’s

About a dozen men and women, some with signs, protested outside a Tim Horton’s coffee shop in downtown Calgary over the lunch hour.
It was peaceful and without incident, although there was a small police presence just in case.
The group was upset that the chain had pulled a series of Enbridge ads, which were running on internal TVs, promoting the Calgary-based company’s pipeline projects.
Tim’s pulled the ads in response to an on-line petition from an American environmental group.
One of the organizers of the protest, Caitlyn Madlener, said Tim’s should apologize to Enbridge and re-instate the ads or face a boycott.
Madlener said the oil industry is vital to Canada’s economy and the company should support it rather than bend to political pressure.
660News has reached out to Tim Horton’s for comment but so far the company has not responded.
