Local students find some of Rick Wallenda’s missing costumes

A disappointing experience in Calgary appears now to have a happy ending.

In a story we first brought you two weeks ago about the theft of some equipment from the “world famous flying Wallendas”, we can now report some of those costumes are now being returned to their rightful owners.

Some students found them in a white bag in the yard at Sir John Franklin School, in Mayland Heights, in the Northeast.

Director of Public Relations for the Royal Canadian Circus Cathy Sproule tells 660News Wallenda was extremely pleased to hear the news.

“And the drama teacher who is driving down to Lethbridge on site, she is ecstatic to be coming down, she wants to deliver this and put it in our hands,” she said.

Students at Sir John Franklin are also getting a special assembly now as officials look to show their appreciation, it’ll even include an appearance from an actor on Hell on Wheels.

The school’s drama teacher will also get a backstage tour of the circus Friday evening alone with ringside seats for returning the costumes personally.
