What could have been a busy night for Calgary police was somewhat subdued.
Amidst the Alberta election hype, the Calgary Flames knocked off the Anahiem Ducks 4-3 in overtime at the Saddledome in game three of their second round playoff run.
Staff Sgt. Steve Ellefson, on the Red Mile during post-game festivities, spoke to City News.
“It started off very quiet, the Flames fought back, a big victory in the end, everybody is very excited and now we have fans out celebrating down here and things have picked up a bit,” Ellefson said after the game drew to a close.
Police have reported no major related incidents overnight.
Ellefson is however reminding residents to leave the fireworks at home if they plan on attending future Red Mile celebrations.
