Bob Hartley nominated for Jack Adams Award

A tremendous accolade for Calgary Flames head coach Bob Hartley.

He’s been nominated for the Jack Adams Award, which goes to the coach “adjudged to have contributed the most to his team’s success.”

Prior to the start of the 2014-2015 season, the majority of pundits picked the Flames to be at the bottom of the standings. Hartley used those predictions as bulletin board material and helped his squad make the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2009. The team finished with a regular season record of 45-30-7 (97 points) and third in the Pacific Division.

Hartley is a first-time Jack Adams Award finalist.

The other nominees are Peter Laviolette of the Nashville Predators and Alain Vigneault of the New York Rangers. The winner is selected in a poll among members of the NHL Broadcasters’ Association at the end of the regular season.

The 2015 NHL Awards will take place Wednesday, June 24th in Las Vegas.
