Calgary students hold practice election

They can’t legally vote just yet, but they are getting some practice in.
Students at Bishop Kidd School in the city’s southeast will be learning the ins and outs of elections Monday by casting their own pretend ballots.
The kids are taking on roles as deputy returning officers, poll clerks and scrutineers.
It’s all a part of the Student Vote program that focuses on helping young people research candidates, leaders and party platforms.
Since 2003, 24 different Student Vote elections have happened across Canada.
