‘Alberta Bound’ or ‘Let It Go’ in Flames/Ducks Mayor’s bets

Idina Menzel does it well, but imagine Mayor Naheed Nenshi singing ‘Let It Go.’

That’s what will happen if the Flames are frozen out of the playoffs by the Anaheim Ducks.

Calgary’s mayor has made a bet with his Anaheim counterpart that if the Ducks win, Nenshi will make a donation to a charity in that city for every goal scored by the Ducks, wear an Anaheim jersey at a city council meeting and sing the Frozen theme.

If the Calgary Flames win this second round series, Anaheim’s mayor will sing ‘Alberta Bound’ by Paul Brandt, wear a Flames Jersey, and make a donation for every Flames goal scored to the Calgary Food Bank.

Game two of their Western Conference matchup goes Sunday night in Anaheim.

The Flames will try to hand the Ducks their first loss of the N-H-L playoffs.

Anaheim has won five straight post-season games, including a 6-1 decision over Calgary in Game 1 of its semi-final
series.

Karri Ramo is expected to get the start for the Flames over Jonas Hiller.
