Tax deadline quickly approaching

It’s getting down to crunch time with the deadline to file taxes set for next Thursday.

George Gaskins, from H&R Block, tells 660News people have a tendency to procrastinate with filing their taxes and it crosses all demographics.

“It can be individuals that are students that have investments that might be delayed. There are individuals that are in the retirement stage of their life, they have investments and slips can be delayed, it doesn’t really fit into one specific demographic. I think it just depends on their unique situation and where they are in life,” Gaskins said.

He said many people don’t realize, filing early can allow a person to take advantage of a number of tax credits.

To help you get those taxes done, H&R Block began a 64 hour tax-a-thon Friday at locations across the city. It ends at midnight, Sunday.
