Police look for man after attack on Calgary taxi driver

Calgary Police are trying to identify a man after a taxi driver was attacked by one of his customers.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, the driver picked up a man in the area of Woodpark Boulevard S.W. and drove him to his destination in the area of Aboyne Way N.E.

The man paid for his fare, but as the driver was giving him his change, the man suddenly attacked the driver, punching him in the face several times and choking him.

The driver used the car horn to attract attention and the man fled on foot.

The taxi driver suffered facial injuries as a result of the attack.

The man is described as Caucasian, 5’6 to 5’8 tall, with a medium build, unshaven face and red hair. He was wearing a beige long sleeve T-shirt, beige baseball hat and blue jeans.
