Variety show to raise funds for Tom Baker Cancer Centre

The second annual show, featuring standup, singing and an 11 year-old musician will be held this weekend.

Tickets are going fast for the 2nd Annual Variety Show to Conquer Cancer.

Barry Piercey is one of the co-hosts.

He tells 660News, it’s got standup, singing and an 11 year-old magician to help entertain the crowd.

Piercey and some friends, also involved in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, started the fundraiser last year and they’re encouraged that it’s already doubled in size.

“All the money goes toward the Alberta Ride to Conquer Cancer and our team, the Tom Baker Cancer Conquerors. Specifically, that money is earmarked for the Tom Baker Centre here in town to fund research, clinical trials and treatment of people here in Calgary. So, it stays local,” says Piercey.

The show goes Sunday, March 29th at 7 p.m. at the Loose Moose Theatre.
