Warm February didn’t break records

Meteorological spring began Sunday, but it feels like it’s been going on all winter with the mild conditions Calgary has enjoyed.

February was a warm month, with an average high of 0.9 degrees Celsius, and an average temperature of -4.6 degrees Celsius.

However, it wasn’t a record: it was warmer in 2013, in 2005, 2004, and 2002.

Last month, we received 13.7 centimetres of snow, which is very close to average.

There was one unusual occurrence: Calgary saw 8 millimetres of rain, which is well above the typical one millimetre.
