Alberta NDP criticizes removing tuition caps

Post secondary education cuts will hurt everyday Albertans, that coming from the provinces New Democrat party.

It comes as the Prentice government says it is considering getting rid of tuition caps.

Leader Rachel Notley says putting money into post secondary education is a worthwhile investment.

“Studies have been out there for decades that you know, money put into ensuring you have a well-educated workforce pays back massive dividends in terms of new investment, not only from the innovation that’s brought about by those students, but by investors looking for a well educated workforce,” she said.

Notley said the province needs to diversify the economy, and end corporate welfare to fix the provinces financial woes.
