Man in Texas alerts Calgary police to break and enter

Calgary Police are hunting down two suspects after a break and enter Sunday morning.

Shortly after 10:00a.m. Sunday, officers were alerted to the issue from a man in Texas. The victim was watching it all unfold on his iPad, thanks to his security system.

HAWCS helicopter was dispatched, and ended up pursuing the get-away truck.

Acting detective Jack Russell said the victim has been incredibly helpful.

“The victim is actually going to send us the video footage and screenshots from his footage to us, so hopefully that will enable us to identify these suspects,” said Russell. “And, of course, we have that facial recognition program now, so we might be able to utilize that to our advantage as well.”

Russell said one suspect got out of the truck at another house that police are investigating, and the second suspect dumped the truck at Sunridge Mall and took off inside.
