Two young men identified after a fatal rollover near High River

Two young men at the centre of a fatal rollover just outside of High River Saturday, have now been identified.

They are 19 year old Carter Corrigan and 20 year old Eli Eggli-Gosselin, both from the High River area.

High River RCMP were able to release their names after getting in contact with their families.

Just after 8am Saturday, emergency crews were called to a serious single vehicle crash just northeast of High River.

They found a red Chrysler Sebring has left the road, rolled and came to a rest on its roof in the backyard of a home.

Even though the two males were wearing seatbelts, they were both pronounced dead on scene.

The scene is still under investigation while RCMP determine the cause.

One of the victims, Gosselin, was reportedly a member of the High River Flyers Junior B Hockey Club.

The team released a statement on their Facebook page:

“It is with great sadness that our hockey family mourns the devastating loss of our teammate & captain Eli Gosselin, who along with another Blackie-area boy were killed in a vehicle rollover early this (Saturday) morning. This weekend’s games have been cancelled as our team processes this unbelievable tragedy.”
