Police investigating another armed robbery on Banff Trail

Calgary police are trying to figure out if two hotel robberies this week are connected.

Thursday, two men burst into a hotel in the 2800 block of Banff Trail northwest just before 10:30 p.m., brandishing weapons.

Pepper spray was used during the incident, before the two made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Constable Hung Pham says police later attended the Bridgeland LRT station to speak with two men who matched the description of the suspects.

“The CTrain was stopped, the two suspects were interviewed and it was determined that they were not involved in the robbery. We are still actively looking for two suspects right now,” he said.

Tuesday night, a similar robbery involving two armed men took place at the Quality Inn, also on Banff Trail.
