A fatal crash southeast of Edmonton has left four people dead.
Leduc RCMP say a Saturn Ion was travelling northbound on Highway 21 near Highway 625 Saturday morning when it lost control, after hitting an icy patch, and slid into oncoming traffic, colliding with a tractor trailer heading southbound.
All four occupants of the car were killed on impact.
“The RCMP, at this time, believe that road conditions, at the time, were a contributing factor to this motor vehicle collision. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured as a result of the motor vehicle collision, and at this time, the deceased names are not being released pending notification of next-of-kin,” says RCMP spokesperson Sarah Knelson.
Police do not anticipate charges to be laid.
