Calgary school trains Santa’s helpers

Things can get hectic this time of year and the jolly man in red sometimes needs help to get people into the holiday spirit.

Preparations have begun for the Christmas rush at Canada’s only Santa School in Calgary.

The school puts candidates through a strict screening process, teaching them the tricks of the trade so they can be just like the real St. Nick.

Dean Jennifer Andrews tells City News, they train wannabe Santas from around the globe.

“We have Santas that come from Asia, we have Santas that come from Sweden, the Congo, the United States, all over Canada, and we then likewise send them all over the world,” Andrews said.

She said they have even been consultants for movie productions about Mr. Claus.
