Calgary restaurants offer free meals to military members

A couple of Calgary restaurants have found a way to honour our veterans.
Bookers BBQ and Crab Shack is offering an all-you-can-eat free rib meal Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. to all past and present members of the military.
This is the second year the restaurant has put on this promotion.
Manager Mike Young told City it’s a cause dear to the hearts of the staff.
“We are trying to say thank you, we get 365 day a year of freedom in Canada because of our troops and this is our opportunity to give a little bit back,” Young said.
They are asking people make reservations on OpenTable or call them at 403-264-6419.
Another Calgary restaurant, Chicken on the Way, is also offering free meals to members of the armed forces at all locations until Wednesday.
A spokesman tells City a lineup of about 40 members attended their free meal event last year but they hope even more members will accept their thanks this year.
“I figure that it’s sometimes a pretty busy day for them so it gives them a chance to get in here before or after,” he said.
