Olympic Oval hosts Halloween Skate

Calgarians can get in on some spooky fun at the Olympic Oval Friday.

It’s all for a good cause: The University of Calgary Faculty of Kinesiology is hoping to raise $5,000 for the United Way with a Halloween Skate.

“Get your kids to burn off some energy before they gather all that candy on Halloween night,” he said. “We’d like everybody to come down dressed in their costumes.  We’re going to have Halloween treats, we’re going to have pizza and we’re going to have Olympians and athletes like Gilmore Junio.”

The minimum $10 donation includes lunch and treats.

The event starts at noon and people can skate, run, or walk around the oval to complete their laps as part of the fundraiser.
