Teen slashed at southwest high school

Police are investigating after a teenager was slashed at Bishop Grandin High School.

It happened over the lunch hour Thursday, after some kind of schoolyard fight broke out.

EMS Spokesperson Stuart Brideaux says, luckily the injuries involved, were not as bad as first thought.

“On arrival, EMS determined a mid-teens male sustained injury, perhaps more of a slash than a stab wound to his back,” he said.

The teen has been taken to Rockyview Hospital in stable condition; police describe injuries to his back as minor.

Officers are searching for a suspect, but are still waiting to speak with the young victim.
