Partners in safety protect Calgary Trick-or-Treaters

For 20 years, trick-or-treaters and their parents have been able to rely on Calgary’s Partners for Safety, which provides a safe haven for Halloweeners should something go wrong.

Police, Bylaw, Fire and EMS personell will again patrol city neighbourhoods Friday.

And Transit safety boss Brian Whitelaw says bus drivers are there to help too.

“A bus driver is able to radio in if there’s any kind of emergency or, you know, a child experiences any kind of safety issue. We’re also part of the connection that happpens out on the street.”

Partners for safety is coordinated by Calgary’s Child Magazine which took over from UNICEF back in 1995.
