Four killed when small plane crashes into building at Wichita, Kansas airport

WICHITA, Kan. – At least four people are dead after a small plane reported losing engine power and crashed into a building at a Kansas airport.

The city’s fire chief says at least five others were injured and that part of the building has collapsed, making it too dangerous to search for four people who remain missing.

The pilot was the only person aboard the twin-engine plane.

The U-S Federal Aviation Administration says the plane reported engine trouble just after taking off from Mid-Continent Airport and crashed while attempting to return to the runway.
