Calgary stress expert on how to get past shocking attacks on Canada

One week after the attack in Ottawa, a Calgary stress management expert is reminding Canadians, while what happens can’t be controlled, the reaction to shocking events can.

Lana Bullough, CEO of You Unlimited, commended the country on doing a great job of focusing on the story of heroism by Canadian service persons and responders on the scene, rather than glorifying the attackers in the recent events in Ottawa and Quebec.

She tells 660News exercise, a good night sleep and keeping up your routine are keys to getting through difficult times.

“Listen and watch what you’re doing, how many negative events you’re listening to, limit those in your daily routines and actually expose yourself to really positive things in your life,” Bullough said.

She said one of the best places to start is with gratefulness; to focus on the positive aspects of living in Canada.
